The GLSS has your singlehanded race, whether you are a first time solo sailor, or a veteran of many singlehanded challenges. Perhaps it's a single day event such as the Lower Huron or St. Clair Solos, or an overnight 110-miler as you will find in the Lake Michigan Solo Scramble. Are you ready for a full-fledged membership granting challenge such as the Chicago or Port Huron to Mackinac Island Solo Challenge, or in alternate years, the Sault Ste. Marie to Duluth Trans Superior Solo Challenge? The Lake Erie Solo Challenge, which premiered last year will be back again in 2008 on August 23. If you want to test your mettle, have double the fun, and learn what you're made of, give one of the Super Macs from either Port Huron to Chicago or Chicago to Port Huron a try! Premiering in 2008 will be the longest by far (at nearly 1,200 statute miles), freshwater singlehanded race in the world - the Super Mac and Back Solo Challenges. They feature a start in either Chicago or Port Huron, sail to the opposite starting point (Chicago or Port Huron), and then return via the same course to the original starting point. Whether you sail a go-fast multi or the proverbial slow boat to China, we have the venue that will enhance your singlehanded abilities, and at the same time provide the satisfaction and thrill that few sailors will ever experience. You will learn more about your boat and yourself than you ever thought possible; along the way, you will experience the cameraderie that is inherrent in the competition you'll encounter, and the successful completion of a singlehanded race. The links below will take you directly to the race documents page for the respective event where you can view, print, or download the forms for the race of your choosing. They are PDF files, and instructions for downloading Adobe Reader™ if you don't already have it, are posted on each page. Pick your event, submit your entry, and experience the sailing thrill of a lifetime. The GLSS is there to help you along the way - you'll become a better and safer sailor as a result. We hope to see you on the water! The Chicago and Port Huron to Mackinac Solo Challenges The Sault Ste. Marie to Duluth Trans-Superior Solo Challenge
