2008 Lake Superior Solo Scramble Documents The next Lake Superior Solo Scramble will be August 8, 2008. The Lake Superior Solo Scramble is an event that takes place in alternating years. It features three separate events over a one week period, with Event 1 starting in Bayfield, Wisconsin. The overall objective of the series is to provide new solo skippers with a realistic sense of a GLSS Solo Challenge and additionally to serve as a qualifying solo passage for those interested in participating in one of the GLSS membership granting events. To serve as a qualifying solo passage, the total time involved to complete any of the seperate Events listed below must exceed 24 hours under sail over a distance of not less than 100 statute miles. You may not add times and or distances together from individual Events to accumulate the required 24 hours/100 statute mile requirement. The details of the event are as follows:
Legs 2 and 3 of this event will run concurrently with the LSYA Off-shore Series. Refer to the Notice of Race for further information. Roller furling credits will not be given for this event.
